Services and Schemes

As Europe's leading dispute resolution service we provide arbitration, mediation and other ADR services to thousands of organisations and individuals each year across Europe, and we work with organisations to develop schemes that are carefully designed to meet the needs of the organisation or the sector within which they operate.

Mediation Services

CEDR Ireland's mediation service is second to none across Ireland, offering parties a number of options of how to appoint a mediator.  These range from being able to choose the mediator you want, to asking for recommendations or asking us to appoint on your behalf. Whichever way you choose, you have free access to our Case Management Service (optional).

The CEDR Ireland Mediator Practice Group is the leading group of experienced CEDR Accredited mediators operating across Ireland and Northern Ireland.  All mediators in the group are highly experienced and respected mediators with a track record for providing high quality mediation services.  Members are expert mediators whose practice includes complex, multi-jurisdictional cases worth many millions as well as mediators specialising in family, workplace and general consumer work.

We do not charge booking, referral or administration fees when you book direct with us or direct with one of our practice group.  To book one of our leading mediators see The CEDR Ireland Mediator Practice Group or contact our Practice Manager, Nicola White.

Arbitration Services

CEDR Ireland acts as an administrating body and Appointing Authority under The UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules (Articles 5-8) and can also supply skilled arbitrators.

We can:

  • Supply details of suitable arbitrator(s) for the parties to consider
  • Appoint arbitrators with the joint consent of the parties
  • Appoint arbitrators with unilateral consent from one party

Parties sometimes require assistance from us during the arbitration in the form of:

  • Managing the exchange of documents
  • Setting up hearings and sourcing venues
  • Providing fundholding services
  • Offering administrative and practical support
  • Providing information on appropriate settlement techniques for use in the arbitration including on the use of a ‘Mediation Window'.

Parties may make a unilateral or joint application to us for the appointment of a sole arbitrator or a panel of three arbitrators.

Schemes

Schemes are ideal where there may be a higher volume of disputes and businesses (and their consumer or business customers) can benefit from economies of scale.  Schemes are cost effective and speedy alternatives to the court. We currently provide more than 50 schemes across Europe, with many specifically for the Irish and UK markets.

If you would like to develop a scheme for your sector or business, please contact Nicola White on +353 (0) 1 871 7575 or complete our online enquiry form.
